Make a plan to solve a community issue, win scholarships

The 2015 Belk Service Learning Challenge asks student teams in Grades 6-8 (with the guidance of an educator) to identify an issue in their community that they would like to positively impact or change, research the issue, create an action plan to implement their solution and showcase their project through a 1-2 minute video. Teams cannot have more than four members. Additionally, the Belk Service Learning Challenge website provides educators with FREE standards-aligned lesson plans and digital resources to support each team through the entry process. Offered in partnership by Discovery Education, Belk and ISTE, the Belk Service Learning Challenge encourages students to give back to their community through hands-on service learning projects.

Three Grand Prize winning teams will receive up to $10,000 in scholarships ($2,000 per student and $2,00 for the teacher/mentor). The Challenge is open now through February 27, 2015.
